Following the successful Connection Dance Center project over the past four years, we are now embarking on a new journey:
WANDERUNG is an interdisciplinary project between the mónica garcía vicente DANCE PROJECT and the Bremen music collective The HEADs Ensemble.
Sixteen young amateur dancers from Hanover are embarking on an artistic exploration together with musicians from Bremen—a journey through sound, movement, and memory.
WANDERUNG will take place in spring 2026. Weekly rehearsals, workshops, and creative encounters will create a space in which dance and music are interwoven. Participants will gain insights into professional work processes, develop their own material, and actively contribute to the joint performance. The project will conclude with a public performance in which the resulting works will be brought together.
Participation in WANDERUNG 2026 is free of charge.

The project WANDERUNG by choreographer Mónica Garcia Vicente and the Bremen-based music collective The HEADs, consisting of Melissa Wedekind and Hans Fröhlich, combines dance and music in an interdisciplinary dialogue and takes walking as the starting point for an artistic exploration of human movement. Walking and hiking are presented not only as physical experiences, but also as metaphors for freedom, departure, transformation, memory, and migration.
Through collaboration, an experimental space emerges where different artistic languages converge: body, sound, and movement intertwine to form a shared form of expression. Emerging dancers and musicians from both cities are invited to actively shape the artistic process. The project becomes a shared journey of exploration, during which participants expand their own expressive potential and gain insights into professional artistic practices.

Are you aged between 17 and 27 and keen to express yourself through dance? Then apply to take part in WANDERUNG!
Workshops with Mónica García Vicente are taking place in the autumn of each year. The dancers for the project will then be selected from those who took part in the auditions in December.
