>> Connection Dance Center
The Connection Dance Center (CDC) is an intensive educational series with Mónica García Vicente that offers young amateur dancers (aged 15 – 25) in Hannover the opportunity to work in a professional environment and experience the routine & daily life of a dancer. Mónica is supported by guest teachers from different fields of performance art (dance, music, dramaturgy, acting, lighting, etc.).
During the CDC which runs several months, the participants complete weekly training and rehearsals with Mónica García Vicente. The rehearsals lead to micro-performances, which are performed in various venues in Hannnover. The program also includes internships at dance institutions such as the Staatsballett Hannover, LANDERER & COMPANY, EISFABRIK Hannover and Tanzhaus AhrbergViertel.
The CDC takes place annually.
>> Be part of it – this is how you can apply!
Workshops with Mónica García Vicente are taking place in the autumn of each year. Participation in at least one of the workshops is a requirement for participation in the audition. The dancers for the CDC are then selected from the participants of the auditions in December.

“Dance as an art form coexists with all other arts. The different artistic media have always cross-fertilized each other. For this reason, in all my projects I like to work in close contact with artists* from other artistic disciplines, with artists* who want to enter new territory and look at it from different perspectives and bring it to life.”

>> Connection Dance Center 2023

Twelve young amateur dancers were selected for the second Connection Dance Center and will train & rehearse weekly from March. They will work on the micro-performance „WILLIS“, which will be performed together with an open rehearsal in various venues in Hannover: at the Staatsoper Hannover as part of the Ostertanztage 2023,at the EISFABRIK as part of the tanzOFFensive and in Tanzhaus AhrbergViertel as part of the open day.
Parallel to this, the young dancers get to know choreographies by Goyo Montero, Sofia Nappi and Marco Goecke by sitting in on the multi-part evening “Game of Life” at the Staatsballett Hannover. In addition, there will be a job shadowing at the EISFABRIK during the tanzOFFensive at LANDERER & COMPANY.
The CDC 2023 runs from March to May.

,,WILLIS”
„Willis” is an experimental dance performance with 12 dancers and an original composition about romantic clichés of femininity and the reality of life of female dancers in the era of romanticism and in the present. „Willis” sees itself as a choreographic experiment in search of a contemporary romantic aesthetic and formal language.
